My journey

God at Work (update on Masha) – 10/11/12

Hey everyone,

First we would like to give all the glory to God and to thank again everyone for their prayer and support. It has been such an overwhelmingly beautiful picture of the body of Christ coming together and bearing one another’s burdens (Gal 6:2).

To update everyone on how Masha is doing, she has had no allergic reactions to the medication that she has been on which is a huge praise. Also, the biopsy that was taken during the colonoscopy has come back negative which means her cells are not showing that they are active like in the case of Crohn’s disease which is a good report. She still has an undetermined type of IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) and they will be doing a few more tests to further check her small intestines. However, the doctor said that she is actually coming “out of the woods.” She still has some slow recovery to go but God is so faithful and will continue to walk her down this path.

Ways to keep praying: She is still on pain meds that are causing her to feel dizzy and she needs oxygen to help. Continue to pray the inflammation is stabilized and she recovers completely. Pray that she will continue to have boldness and be a light for Christ in the hospital.

We continue to thank God for all he is doing. He is our hope and salvation a our shelter in the time of storm.

Medication

Hey everyone! Just wanted to give you a quick update. Masha’s TB test was negative, PRAISE GOD!

Right now, they are giving her the new medication.

Let’s pray that this medication will benefit Masha!

Quick update

Update from Alex ::

Due to insufficient amount of red blood cells in Masha’s body they will do blood transfusion this morning. It should bring additional oxygen to her body and help her get better. The low amount of red cells in her blood contributed and also a reason why she has a problem with breathing.

Hospital update

It’s has been such an encouragement for the Zhdan family to have people visit and pray with them at the hospital. Unfortunately, due to Masha’s pain and condition, Alex and Vita have made the decision to not leave her side. If you do decide to go to the hospital they will not be coming down anymore. Thanks again for all your support and care!

Keep praying…

It is truly amazing to see the community of believers come together to support, care and plead to the Lord on Masha’s behalf.  Beautiful.  We are continuing the 24 hour prayer.  Please post a comment to sign up.

An Update:: Masha is still in a lot of pain and has some anxiety in the anticiaption of all the painful nights.  Please also pray as the Zhdan’s get the results tomorrow from some tests that will determine the medicine that Masha can have.  He is faithful and ABLE.

Psalm 73:23-26
Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory.
Whom have I in heaven but you?
And there is nothing on earth that I desire on earth besides you.
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is my strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Masha is getting worse she is on an oxygen mask and an increased dosage of pain medication. The doctors don’t leave her for very long due to the severity of her pain.

I beg you cry out to God. Get on your knees and pray on Masha’s behalf.

To kick us off we will have an hour long prayer tonight at 11:00pm-12:00am.

Update From the Hospital

Masha had another painful night last night.

Because of this the doctors have decided to give her Remicade (the medication to reduce the inflammation of her colon) today instead of waiting until Sunday or Monday. They will be taking an abdominal Xray in a few moments before they start the medicine. Her abdominal pain is going to be controlled with a max dose of a pain killer called Dilandit.

We know God is in control and we are asking people to pray that her body responds well to this medication.

Thanks to all of you for your support and prayer.

Alex

After the procedure

Dear friends, with our thankful hearts we received the doctor’s report from Masha’s tests. There was no inflammation found on her esophagus,  stomach, or small intestine. Unfortunately, the colon has a severe case. Biopsies will be taken for further study. They will start treat her colon by medication on Sunday or Monday. We have to pray to have a positive effect without complication. This medication should work fast 1-2 days.

Continue praying for Masha’s body. God is able to help her. Thanks you Jesus for everything. We love you and are waiting with humble hearts.

In the procedure now

Text from Alex ::

“They started procedures around 2pm and they said it will take two hours. when they prepared her God surprised Masha again. Assistant of the anesthesiologist was Russian and she spoke with her in Russian. Masha was a bit happier. Praying now and waiting. God is good. Thanks for lifting us up in your prayers.”

Thanking God for Sickness…

I would like to send this update to all the prayer warriors:

The unbelievable faith of a child makes the faith of her parents stronger!

Praise be to God for giving Masha strength for the last several hours before the test. She has no fear at all and she is ready. Thanks to everyone that continues to pray for her. She was praying few minutes ago with us and THANKED GOD FOR HER SICKNESS!  She knows Jesus is being glorified through this. We can’t begin to tell you how much this is changing us and our walk with Him!

Now she is asking for my phone to see all of you guys. Sorry I have to surrender …we love you!

Alex

Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed;
he will answer him from his holy heaven
with the saving might of his right hand.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
